Pinteresting...

I can say I have successfully made a few things from pinterest.

So here is a screen shot of what started the pinterest projects for me. It's a screen shot because this dates back to before I realized how amazing pinterest is and it is before I set up an account.

It makes me feel good and I feel like I soooo need a large poster of this in my kitchen but for now it's in a small frame in my bedroom and I can see it everyday and thats ok. Which is perfect because my floor probably is sticky and oven dirty from our cupcake project today.

So I "took" the photo and simply printed it on photo paper and put it in a frame that I love.

Presto pinterest project one was done...... Well it seemed kinda lonely and I had a matching white frame so on to project number two.

I love this idea especially since I had the {first} key to my house just sitting in a drawer in my bathroom, now it has a perfect place. Buying a house is a big purchase and it reminds me I am very lucky to be able to do this so again it puts a big smile on my face. For those that may not know I purchased my first home in 2009 and Sydney and I have been enjoying it ever since.

The finished framed key with a simple printed background With the date I purchased my house.

Well with the holidays and decorating of course I had to make something so here is my Halloween tulle wreath I made.

Here it is hanging over the fireplace to give it a little more scale. It is just tulle tied on a fly wreath form.

Then the next project was the chore chart and shortly after the menu board. Both are huge hits with Sydney she loves writing on them and checking items off.

This time I did it legal they had a free download of the nice little chart and I simply put it in a frame and put it on the wall. I decided to use Velcro so I can take it down and rewrite everything more easily and it works perfect. I hung it in the kitchen so we will see it everyday. Sydney loves doing chores so she can check items off and I am ok with it even if she only sweeps 80% of the stuff off the floor or dusts the lower 3 feet of the house because it looks 80% better than when we started. Her record is 5 tasks in one go: sweeping, mopping, dusting, helping clean the bathrooms, and cleaning all the dog fur off the couch in one afternoon. All just so she can check items off the chart, why didn't I know about this months ago. So I would definitely say it was well worth it. I love how simply it was to do and how effect it is.

A close up of the chore chart.

Both projects hanging nicely in place.

So our most recent project Sydney helped and what makes is true so I can say "I made something I pinned on pinterest today" we made egg free cupcakes. We have tried to avoid eggs as much as possible because of Sydney's egg allergy but Sydney has been bugging me for cupcakes. So I stumbled across the egg free brownie post and wondered if it would work for cupcakes. I found a few comments saying it should work. So basically you add diet soda instead of eggs. It says use the soda to replace eggs and oil... I was worried So I added half as much oil and the a little less than half a soda and it worked perfect. I even used gluten free mix and it came out fluffy and amazing as ever. You would never know.

I loooooove pinterest and can't wait to start my next project I know there will be many many more to come and lots of pins for the holiday season and hopefully they come out just at perfectly as these. I'm considering building a DIY barbie dollhouse out of an unbuilt bookshelf I have had in my garage for over a year.... So wish me luck and happy pinning everyone.

  1. I love Pinterest too. So many ideas. Thanks for the tip about the soda. Aiden is allergic to eggs and poor guy, he can't have any cakes or cups. I will try that. Thanks :)

  2. I'm loving the projects you've completed so far! So classy!

I love Pinterest. If I wasn't stuck in my apartment right now, I think I'd be at the craft store twice a week!
